Pathology: When the Solution Takes on Character

I am the human ant. Pathology is a solution that forgot it was a solution.

The solution was built to make the next beat possible when the required change exceeded available water. Repetition gives it form in memory, habit and boundary—salt in the model's language. The ego activates the solution through its gates, and feedback is supposed to say whether it is still needed.

When the gate protects the rule from examination and the rule consumes more movement than it permits, the solution takes on identity or character. This is pathology in the ant sense.
